- Background: Stroke is one of circulatory system impairment and second leading cause of death after ischemic heart disease. In Indonesia, mortality caused by stroke is about 132.309 in 2004, with crude death rate is about 59,27 over 100.000 populations, in additions of death, it can lead to disability of the ones who survived. Stroke can caused by many risk factors, and the event of westernization increases of risk factors among the population of developing country. Objective: To determine the relationship between the number of risk factors with the outcome of stroke patients at Sardjito Hospital. Method: The research carried out by cross sectional study. Data was collected from the medical records of subjects who comply with a request of inclusion criteria, then 51 data that meets the inclusion criteria being grouped in two category, less than three risk factors and more than three risk factors, and the degree of severity recorded by assessing the degree of neurologic deficit (scoring by SSGM) and survival of patients. Result: There is a significant in correlation between the number of risk factors with the decreased of SSGM score and increased mortality among stroke patients. This obtained from the value of p=0,006 (p<0,05) Conclusion: There is a significant in correlation between the number of risk factors with the decreased of SSGM score and increased mortality among stroke patients.
