  • death in breast carcinoma. Metastasis in breast carcinoma via lymphatics system is initiated by lymphangiogenesis. P53 and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF)-C have important role in lymphangiogenesis, but their correlation is still unclear. Aim : To determine the correlation between P53 and VEGF-C expression in ductal invasive breast carcinoma. Method: 40 paraffin embedded tissue of invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast were stained immunohistocemically using Streptavidin-Biotin staining method, with monoclonal antibody anti P53 and anti VEGF-C. P53 expression was evaluated in the nucleus of breast carcinoma. VEGF-C expression was evaluated in the cytoplasm of breast carcinoma. The relationship beetwen variables were analyzed by Chi Square method. Result: Statistical analysis showed there was significant correlation between P53 and VEGF-C expression in invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast p= 0,014 (p<0,05). Conclusion: In this research, P53 expression is correlated with the VEGF-C expression in ductal invasive breast carcinoma.
