Daftar Isi:
- Energy consumption will increase in accordance with the economic growth, the increasing of population, and the change of life style. Energy used for daily life, running transportation equipment, running of industry equipment and so on. Industrial equipment consumes most of the energy. In the other hand, energy consumed by the industry equipments produced from the non-renewable energy that is petroleum and coal. Therefore, that energy consumption in industry must to minimize. Energy efficiency improvement in manufacturing industry will reduce energy consumption and minimizing environmental effect. Energy consumption in machining process estimated and minimized with machining process modeling. Research on energy consumption in manufacturing process using machines tool has mostly done on industrial scale. However, in this research will be conducted energy consumption analysis on a lathe CNC EMCO Compact 5PC that is used for education scale. This research conducted to determine energy consumption on the machining process of aluminum alloy (AL6101) and two types of insert tools with a CNC lathe machine. Machining parameters (depth of cut, feed rate, and spindle speed) were been combined to determine influence of the machining parameters energy consumption. Electric energy consumed by the CNC machine during the machining process consumed with KWH meter. The result data used to get relation between machining processes parameters on the CNC lathe machine by electric energy consumption. The result shows that the higher depth of cut, feed rate, and spindle speed, the higher electric power consumption, but lower in specific energy consumption. Energy consumption equation obtained from the regression test, can use to make recommendation on selecting machining parameters on the CNC EMCO Compact 5PC lathe machine.
