- Background: The complexity of patients� illness leads to death or critical condition. This case makes ICU one of the most common dying places. The rate of patients death in the ICU is approximately 25% world wide and so is in Sardjito Hospital. Nurses in ICU have responsibility in EOL care. Besides, the amount of study on EOL care in developing countries is still minimum. Objective: This study aims to measure the quality of EOL care for critically ill patients in the ICU of Sardjito Hospital, Yogyakarta. Method: This study used descriptive quantitative method. The population was ICU nurses and the sample was 10 ICU nurses of Sardjito Hospital fulfilling inclusion and exclusion criteria, who filled the QODD-ICU questionnaire towards 20 patient sample units. This study was held from December 20th 2012 to February 5th 2013. The results were analyzed using univariat and mean based on the total scores by range 0-100. Result: The quality of EOL care is in the number 55,29 between range 0-100. Conclusion: The quality of EOL care for critically ill patients in the ICU of Sardjito Hospital, Yogyakarta is in the number 55,29 between range 0-100. There is no category in this study.
