- Background:Indonesia is a disaster-prone areas. Disaster is series of events that threaten and disrupt people's life. It can cause some health issues for people who experieced it. Furthermore, number of patients who visit health care service may be influenced. Objective: To analyze the patterns of disease and number of child visits to the health care service before and after Merapi eruption at Cangkringan subdistrict , Sleman regency, Yogyakarta. Methods:Quantitative descriptive with cross-sectional design was implemented with using documentation study. A checklist sheet was used to collect data gathered from monthly medical records in Cangkringan public health center. Data were analyzed with descriptive statictic analysis, unpaired test, t- test and Mann Whitney test. Result: Number of children who visited Cangkringan public health center was increased on May 2011. Respiratory tract disease was found to be the most common disease in before and after eruption. Number of disease cases found in respiratory tract, digestive system, symptomatology and the sign of circulatory and respiratory, symptomatology and the sign of digestive system and abdomen were significantly increased after eruption (772 vs 1117, p=0,036
