  • The purpose of this research is : 1) identiy the role of agricultural extension officers in the utilization of local food in Bantul, 2) identify the internal factors of womenâ��s farmer group members which affecting the role agricultural extension officers in the utilization of local food, 3) identify which the relationship between the role of agricultural extension officers and the utilization of local food in Bantul. Data was collected purposively in Sedayu, Pajangan and Pleret areas of Bantul with a total number respondents consisting of 60 from the womenâ��s farmer group. Data analysis method used for the first hypothesis was Proportion test, for the second and third hyphothesis the data analysis method were Chi-Square test. The research result show the role of agricultural extension officers as consultants, motivators, facilitators and partner to workers local food activity was mostly categorized as high. The internal factors affecting the role extension officers were the level of education and motivation of womenâ��s farmer group members. The role of agricultural extension officers that significanty correlated with the use of local food was the role of agricultural extension officers as facilitator.
