- Background: The undernutrition status is a problem that has not been overcome yet and can be found in every province in Indonesia. The case are determined by both direct and indirect factors. In the clinics, the prevalence of undernutrition in child under five years is still high as 17,06%. Objective: To understand that affecting undernutrition condition of child under five years including food intake, infectious disease, knowledge and mother�s education, family income, and the number of family members on the undernutrition of child under five years. Metode: The subject of research is the mother and child with undernutrition condition. The tool used was an instrument of knowledge, form the food recall and the scales. Primary Data obtained through questionnaires and measurements on respondent. Statistical analysis techniques used was Chi Square test and logistic regression test with α = 5%. Result: A total of 54 respondents participated in this research. As many as 72,2 % childs having the status of undernutrition and 27.8 % childs experiencing malnutrition. Predictor against undernutrition in the analysis bivariat is intake of food, infectious diseases, mother�s knowledge and the number of members of the family ( p < 0.05 ). In the analysis multivariate, infectious diseases (OR = 87,06, p = 0,012), the number of members of the family (OR= 0,018, p =0,010) and intake of food (OR= 0,003, p = 0,009) is predictors against undernutrition in childs under five years. Conclusion: Food intake, infectious diseases, mother�s knowledge, and the number of members families are predictors against undernutrition in child under five years. Intervention focused against these factors is expected to increase nutrition status in children under five years.
