- Community awareness and participation in sea turtles conservation were affected by knowledge and perception of the community. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge, perception, and participation of community on the conservation of sea turtle s in Samas Beach, Bantul Regency and Trisik Beach, Kulon Progo Regency. There were 60 respondents consisting of 30 respondents in Samas Beach Bantul Regency and 30 respondents in Trisik Beach Kulon Progo Regency were selected using simple random sampling technique and interviewed with questionnaires. The results showed that the average respondents have high knowledge level, and by the positive response given on statements about the benefits of sea turtles.
