  • The research was conducted to determine the effect of substitution rice bran with cocoa meal husk fermented in feed on growth and survival rate of african catfish. The experimental method in this research used complete randomized design that consist of five treatments and triplicate was P1 (Rice Bran 20% : Cocoa meal husk fermented 80%), P2 (Rice Bran 40% : Cocoa meal husk fermented 60%), P3 (Rice Bran 60% : Cocoa meal husk fermented 40%), P4 (Rice Bran 80% : Cocoa meal husk fermented 20%), and control used commercial feed. African catfish with 8-12 cm in sized and reared in 55 Ã� 55 Ã� 60 cm3 of fiber box size with density 10 fish/box and average individual weight was 9-12 g. The frequency of feeding was twice a day with amount 4% of the biomass. The parameters observed include growth, survival rate, and feed conversion ratio. Substitution of rice bran with cocoa meal husk fermented had no effect on growth and survival rate of african catfish. Substitution of rice bran to cocoa meal husk fermented gave lower growth rate on african catfish than control treatment. The cocoa meal husk fermented can use as the substituted rice bran on feed material.
