- Community participation plays an important role for the success of rehabilitation and regeneration program that exist in Paliyan Wildlife Sanctuary area. There are four purposes in this research, those are to determine : (1) public perception towards rehabilitation and regeneration programs on Paliyan Wildlife Sanctuary area, (2) forest village communities� interaction againts Paliyan Wildlife Sanctuary area, (3) levels of idea participation, power participation, and utilization participation by forest village community on land�s rehabilitation and regeneration programs, (4) communities� social economy factors� influences againts participation level. This research used quantitative approaching with survey method, by taking sample from some population and use quetionaire as main data collection�s tool. The sampling technique was done by purposive sampling. This research taking location in the area of Paliyan Wildlife Sanctuary, includes villages which are directly contiguous with Paliyan Wildlife Sanctuary area. The data collection are in form of communities� social economy condition, perception data, and interaction which is taken from direct interview, also participation data which is taken from quetionaire. Data analysis� method was done by scoring. To analyzed community�s social economy condition are using chy square test. The communities have positive perception towards the existance of Paliyan Wildlife Sanctuary, it cause of the existance of Paliyan Wildlife Sanctuary is very helpful in terms of forest land�s improvement and sustanability. Empowerment program which is conducted in Paliyan Wildlife Sanctuary also got a good response, because it can increase the communities economic level. The interaction which conducted on Paliyan Wildlife Sanctuary area are firewood and fodderbank utilization, also demonstration plots� management and conservation of wildlife sanctuary area. levels of idea participation, power participation, and utilization participation are classified into middle participation. Social economic factors which covers age, level of education, occupation, income level, distance of residence, membership in the organization and gender on this research are have influences on the level of participation.
