- Semarang City is one of the big city in Indonesia. Transportations in the city of Semarang are increasing rapidly, growing in line with the population growth. A new public transportation, named Bus Trans Semarang appeared to meet the transport demand. The coming up of this transportation system is apparently still carrying a lot of problems. One of the problem is about placing a strategic location for the shelter of Bus Trans Semarang, which cannot cover the passengers area well. It leads to the ineffectiveness of the shelter to accommodate passengers, so it is necessary to evaluate the shelter. This research aims to (a) mapping the distribution of shelter Bus Trans Semarang, (b) analyze the relationship between the location of the shelter with the potential generation and attraction, and (c) evaluating the location Shelter Bus Trans Semarang by using Geographic Information Systems. To achieve the research, the survey method is used by a population approach to sampling and data processing used for quantitative analysis. The results are : (A) The shelters are spread extended from Terminal Mangkang to Terminal Penggaron (Hall 1) and from Terminal Sisemut to Terminal Terboyo(Hall 2), the transfer happened in the SMA 5�s Shelter and City Hall�s Shelter. (B) Shelter with a high generation values contained in the Texmaco�s Shelter, Bulu Market and Pandanaran, because the quality of the settlements are low, and for very low values generation was found in Bukopin�s Shelter because of the high quality of its settlements. As for the attraction of a very high valuewas found in SMA 5 Semarang�s Shelter and City Hall�s Shelter, and the low value of the attraction was found at PLN Krapyak�s Shelter. (C) from 69 pairs of bus shelter Trans Semarang, A total of 35 shelters were deemed to be ineffective, because it is not in the region of potentially high generation and attraction.
