- The tourism industry is very in touch with hotels, as the hotels provide service of accommodation and restoration that is needed by the guest who held sightseeing trip or bussines. A hotel has several department, one of which is the housekeeping department plays an important role in treating or preparing the room be rented out. To increase the occupancy of room housekeeping department have special efforts. The final task is organized by using a descriptive approach define ecological efforts made in creating the housekeeping department. The technique of the collection in information used is method of observation by doing work practice and observations on all the activities housekeeping department in The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta, for three month. The purpose of theis thesis is to determine the role and responsibilities of the housekeeping department in creating a luxury. The effort made housekeeping department in creating comfort guest that is, by providing maximum service, friendly, responsibility, honest and professionalism of work.
