  • This study aims to examine the effect of feed intake on total protein serum (TP) levels in kacang goats. This study was done by using three male kacang goats at average age of 1 year old, and healthy. The goats were fed into two periods, i.e. First period with 50% amount of initial feed intake (Restriction) and continued to second period with ad libitum feed intake (Refeeding). Each feed stage period during 4 weeks. Five milliliters of blood samples were taken at the end of each period. TP level was measured by timed-endpoint biuret method. The changes of TPP was analyzed by paired t-Test. Statistical analysis result can be declared as significant when P<0,05. Mean of TPP level in first period (Restriction) was 6,49±0,50 g/dL and increased slightly to the level of 6,87±0,17 g/dL at the end of the second period (Refeeding). It could be concluded that, ad libitum feeding after feed restriction for a month could result in increased TP concentration.
