  • The result of this study show Lack of patient knowledge on health literacy can affect patientâ��s decision making process related to health and cause patient misunderstanding that creates adverse effect. There are several factors that affect patient's dental literacy, such as education level, income level, and language used in everyday life. This study aims to determine patientâ��s oral health literacy level and the most influencing factor. This study used the cross-sectional approach. The subjects of this research were 130 patients attending dental clinic at Tegalrejo Community Health Centre. The subjectsâ�� age ranged from 18-55 years old. Patientâ��s dental literacy and the most influencing factor to patientâ��s dental literacy assessed using a questionnaire about dental literacy and a questionnaire about patientâ��s education level, income level, and languange used in everyday life. Hypothetical measurement to see the influence between education level, income level, language used in eve rday life and dental literacy using simple regression analysis. To see the most influencing factor of dental literacy using multiple regression analysis with 95% confidence level. ed 83.1% of the subjects still had low oral health literacy level. The result of multiple regression test showed that level of education affect dental literacy level at t= 5.60, Income level affect at t= 5.32, and and the language used in everyday life do not affect dental literacy level. In conclusion, patientâ��s dental literacy are still considered as low and the most influencing factor of patientâ��s dental literacy is patientâ��slevel of education.
