- This final assignment entitle �Japanese Language Proficiency Test as The Measurement of Mastering Japanese Skills (Case Study of The Student of Japanese Language Vocational School Gadjah Mada University)�. In 2010 until 2012, the number Student of Japanese Language Vocational School Gadjah Mada University of Nihongo Nooryoku Shiken participants increase significantly. There are various reasons for the to participate in this test. The writer is interested to know the reasons behind the participation of the students of Japanese Language Vocational School Gadjah Mada University in Nihongo Nooryoku Shiken as well as knowing the function of the test as the measurement of their Japanese skills ability. The writer uses descriptive method while in analyzing the data, the writer uses qualitative method. The results of the research are majority of the students of Japanese Language Vocational School Gadjah Mada University participate in the test to measure their Japanese skills it is expressed by 31 respondents (65%). 83 respondents state that the function of the Nihingo Nooryoku Shiken is to measure their Japanese skills ability.
