- This research paper is about Speech Events in The Dongbaeg Kkot (ë��ë°±ê1⁄2�) Comic. The purpose of this research paper is to describe the style of speech in the Dongbaeg Kkot (ë��ë°±ê1⁄2�) comic and describe the factors which influence this style of speech used in the speech events of the comic. The research employed the qualitative method. Data were collected by observing both text and context. Formal speech style (jondaemal) and informal speech style (banmal) were found during the time of research. The use of both speech styles are influenced by two factors: linguistic and non linguistic. Linguistic factors are the use of suffix (both formal and informal), subject honorification, honorifications by means of lexical expressions, address terms, pronouns, and utterance contraction. Non linguistic factors are age, social position, and situation when speech events happen.
