  • Dermatophytosis, also called tinea, ringworm, or superficial fungal infection is caused by dermatophytes of the genera Microsporum, Trichophyton and Epidermophyton. Microsporum canis is the main agent that caused dermatophytosis in dogs. Dermatophytosis occurs in a dog's body were caused by Microsporum infections will have to reduce the inflammatory response to infection. This is likely will be manifested in the leukogram. This study aims to describe the hematologic leukocyte and differential leukocyte Microsporum canis infected dogs. Six local dogs with age less than one year used in this study Microsporum canis infection carried in the back area. Blood samples were taken in three periods (day to-0, day to-16 and day to-37) and the total number of leukocytes examined, and differential leukocytes. Blood test result data were analyzed statistically with Split-plot method. The results showed that there was no significant difference in the calculation of the value of the total number of leukocytes, neutrophils, lymphocytes, and monocytes (P> 0.05) between day to-0, day to-16 and day to37. The significant result are shown in the eosinophil count (P <0.05) Based on the results of this study concluded that Microsporum canis affects eosinophils picture.
