- This research attempts to investigate the use of code mixing in Go Girl and Cosmo Girl Magazines. It aims to identify and classify the types of code mixing which are applied in Go Girl and Cosmo Girl articles. It also investigates the factors which influence the use of code mixing in Go Girl and Cosmo Girl Magazines and explains 6 (six) types of code mixing which are inserted in the Indonesian sentences and formed by English words and sentences. The data were taken from two popular Indonesian teen magazines, Go Girl71th& 76th editions and Cosmo Girl November 2010 & February 2012 editions. The results of this research show that there are 73 cases classified into 6 (six) types of code mixing and those types are insertion of word, insertion of phrase, insertion of baster, insertion of reduplication words, insertion of idiom, and insertion of clause. In general, the reason of code mixing use in Go Girl and Cosmo Girl is the absence of appropriate words or sentences in Indonesian.
