- Toxocara sp. was one of nematode caused some harms to dog, especially on puppy. Infested puppy showed clinical signs like lethargy, emaciated, dwarfisme, even potbellied. Furthermore, Toxocara sp. could infecting human (zoonosis). This study was aim to know the incidence rate of Toxocara sp. infestation in dogs which are cared inside and outside house. Fecal sampels collected from a hundred dogs in Yogyakarta. Dogs are recorded, then identificated with Natif and Centrifuge methods. Then, dogs were grouped according to the way caring. The result of identification of Toxocara sp. eggs were found in 20 from 100 sampels. Toxocara sp. egg were found in 5 from 45 (11%) dogs which cared inside house and 15 from 55 (27%) dogs which cared outside house. Based on these results, it could be concluded that the incidence of Toxocara sp. infestation in dogs in Yogyakarta was 20%. Incidence of Toxocara sp. infestation in dogs cared inside house is lower (11%) than dogs cared outside house (27%).
