Daftar Isi:
- Newcastle Disease (ND), known as Tetelo is a respiratory and digestive disease caused by avian paramyxovirus type 1 (APMV-1). In the field, data showed that there are a lot of cases of Newcastle Disease faced by farmers although they routine vaccination. The aims of this research is to find out the effectivity of ND vaccination program for broiler chiken using endurance parameter toward of viscerotropic velogenic Newcastle Disease (VVND) virus or virulent ND virus. One hundred broiler chickens were divided into 4 groups which is contained 25 chikens. Group I implemented a vaccination programe combained vaccine ND-IB live and ND killed at the age of 1 day, and booster age of 18 days with live ND vaccines. In group II were vaccinated with live ND-IB vaccine at the age of 1 day and 18 days. In group III were vaccinated with live ND-IB vaccine at the age of 1 day and 18 day of age booster with live ND vaccine. Challenge test performed on some broiler chickens with virulent ND virus with dose of 0,5 cc titer 6 HA at the age of 28 day. The group one of 20 chickens were tested to challenge existing 6 chickens that showed symptoms of illness and even death, group II and III of the 20 chickens that tested 20 chikens challenged existing experience pain and death. Protection levels caused the vaccination program group I is 70%, while the level of protection in group II and III is 0%. These results indicate that the ND virus vaccination program in group I was higher than ND vaccination program in group II and III. The result of this research concluded that administration of live ND vaccine priming is needed along with ND killed vaccine to improve the protection against ND virus velogenic.
