  • Paratanaisia sp. is trematode that found in kidney of pigeon. As far as, identification of Paratanaisia sp. in Indonesian did by morphology characteristic. Morphological identification was neeeded molecular identification to support it. The aim of this research was investigated molecular characteristic and phylogenetic of Paratanaisia sp. from Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta, Magelang, and Klaten based on ITS1 region. The worms were found from pigeon`s kidney Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta, Magelang and Klaten. The worms were coloured with Semichone`s Carmine stain and identificated their morphological character. The DNA of worms were extracted and amphlificated using PCR technique. Amplikon as PCR product was sekuensed and allignmented to detemine of arrange nucleotide. Number of different, genetic distances and phylogenetic of the nucleotide was analyzed with MEGA 5.05. The result of morphological identification show that the worm is Paratanaisia sp.. The result of sekuensing allignment on ITS1 region is 523 bp. Number of different nucleotide for Paratanaisia sp. Klaten is 20 base than the others. Genetic distance with Kimura- 2 Parameter test for Paratanaisia sp. Klaten is 4% than the others. Phylogenetic analyze with Neighbor Joining and Maximum Parsimony show that Paratanaisia sp. Klaten, Yogyakarta, Magelang and Kulon Progo have the same cluster with highly bootsrap.
