  • This study analyzes the cooperation of educating Indonesian Migrant Workerâ��s children ini Sabah, involving the ease of educational services for children who live in Sabah Indonesia, where they are very difficult to get access about education and the other supporting convenience of both formal and informal. In this thesis, the author using interviews method and literature study. In realizing of children's education programs and resolving Indonesian Migrant Workers (IMR), government deal with several matters. Some matters are derived from such as ownership of immigration documents, and the limited number of teachers to be placed in Indonesian schools and learning centers such as community learning center (CLC) and Humana Learning Centre (HLC). Seeing the problem, the Indonesian government established cooperation with Malaysian government to resolve the problem of Indonesian Migrant Workerâ��s children in Sabah. Cooperation between the two countries results an agreement framework by involving several governmental and non-governmental side. Initial and early step in developing the cooperation, Indonesian government has run several programs like legalization and itsbat of marriage (marriage determination). The program aimed to legalize the status of non-illegal workers who do not have immigration documents by giving an approval that will be legalized by the Indonesian government. This document will be an administrative requirement to educate their children. In addition, the government also established Sekolah Indonesia Kota Kinabalu (SIKK), which became the core of the school who oversees the existence of Community Learning Centre (CLC) located in Sabah. It will include program such as Package A, B, and C (Elementary, Junior High, and Senior High school equivalent) as a form of national examinations for workerâ��s children who attend nonformal education centers. Not only improving the quality of education, the government also sends educators that were placed in a learning center in Sabah. With the Memorandum of Understanding as a Legal Framework for Cooperation, the government continues to improve educational services for Indonesian Migrant Workerâ��s children in Sabah. The memorandum of understanding will be an umbrella of the cooperation program with Malaysia in education, especially the education of Indonesian Migrant Workerâ��s children services in Sabah.
