- This research was taken in North Sumatera. the purposes for this research are (1) determine the factors that influence demand for agricultural credit in North Sumatra, (2) determine the effects of agricultural GDP on agricultural credit demand in North Sumatra, and (3) determine demand for agricultural credit in North Sumatra in 2013-2018. The research method is descriptive analysis used secondary data from the 1981-2011 (time series ) include the inflation rate, interest rate of loans, economic growth, agricultural labors, farmers exchange rate, exchange rate, and the number of bank offices. The results showed that the demand for agricultural credit in North Sumatra province significantly influenced by a variable interest rate of loan, economic growth, exchange rate, and the number of bank offices. Partially, variables that affect demand for agricultural credit in North Sumatra is the interest rate of loan (P <0.05), economic growth, exchange rate, and the number of bank offices (P <0,01). Inflation rate, agricultural labor, and farmer exchange rate showed not affected significantly. Agricultural GDP was positively influenced the demand for credit in North Sumatra. Demand for agricultural credit in North Sumatra in 2013-2018 tended to increase every year.
