- Street space as a public space in an district not only used for circulation but also an district for social interaction, culture exchange, economic transaction and even for the political interaction. There for the development of urban space can be seen from the interaction and relationship between urban space and the activities in the street space beteween both of building. Ketandan as an district commercial formed residential, support in the Malioboro district has its own character in terms of architectural and activities, it appears in the form and activities that formed on the street space on Ketandan district. This research try to look on the correlation of the physical to the activities setting and the activity settings to the physical setting street space on Ketandan distric, relation to the form of the character that formed and its influence This research uses field observation method to mapping the physical and activity setting to observe the relationship phenomenon of both setting in the street space on Ketandan district The result of this study will gives an overview of relationship between the physical and activity setting that occurs on Ketandan district, be in the form of physical and activities characteristics and the effect of interaction of these two settings. The result is expected to be can be a guideline to optimize design and planing of the are in the future.
