- Research on Control of Space of Post-Earthquake Market was done in order to find a theory which is very likely related to local wisdom during the post-disaster emergency period. The research was conducted sing the method of phenomenology, through the exploration of the market as place of bakulan (selling) activities of community. In this research, earthquake is not viewed as the time frame that can result in the dichotomy of the conditions of before and after the earthquake. However, the earthquake becomes the occurrence which puts a building block for the control of market spatial phenomenon in the period of disaster preparedness until the rehabilitation and reconstruction period after the earthquake. Research conducted during the emergency response up to the rehabilitation and reconstruction period after the earthquake, in May 2006 to January 2008. The phenomenological depth in this research found several themes of the control of market space in Bantul Regency, they are related to space boundary of bakulan, space arrangement of bakulan, space procurement of bakulan, control of bakulan space, the way of bakulan, intensity of bakulan activity, market mobility, duration of bakulan activity, changes in market space arrangement, and variety of space order and activities in the market, linkages between activities in the village and activities in the market, and management of bakulan space. Observation terminated in January 2008 because the phenomenon of control of post-earthquake market space began to diminish over time. This is because public vigilance caused of the earthquake is on the wane. This means that the control of space after the earthquake phenomenon is done temporarily. After a period of rehabilitation and post-disaster reconstruction, the people began to live a normal life, and also returned to the way of control of the market space as they did in before earthquake period. Through eiditic depth, the themes which was then explored and constructed inductively. This process revealed the concepts of control of space market, namely: 1) Market as public space, 2) Market as display space (dhasaran), 3) Market as family nurturing space, 4) Market as social expansion media, 5) Market as socioeconomic space, 6) Market as paseduluran (brotherhood) space, 7) Market as chatting and fun space, 8) Market space management change, 9) Market space openness, and 10) Market as information, knowledge, and culture network. The concept of control of space of post-earthquake market is the realization of the community's vigilance arising due to the earthquake and was influenced by the culture of the society who have been there and continue to grow to the present. Deep exploration will reveal the rationale of the society's strategy in araising vigilance in emergency period. Concepts which was found then was further explored with transcendental depth and managed to find the paseduluran as the basis of the control of the post-quake market space. The value of paseduluran underlying the consensus of control of space of post-earthquake market, includes consensus on spatial distance, space boundary, order of space, and space control. In other words, the overall consensus is based on the value of Paseduluran. These values come from the local culture of the community in Bantul Regency which is proved to accelerate the recovery of the community to normal life
