  • This research aimed at investigating 1). The structure in the novel of The Weekenders, 2). The world view in The Weekenders, and 3). The relationship between the world view and the structure in The Weekenders, using the method applied by Lucien Goldmann structuralism genetic. The method applied in this research were qualitative and dialectic in comprehending the whole structure in the novel of The Weekenders, as well to comprehend the world view of Sheila Roberts in her novel. The novel itself talked about the live of the people in South Africa who sought for freedom of racism and the life under apartheid regime, which segregate and lived based on racial believe, and all believe about racism like social, politic, economy, education, and many more. By applying the method of Lucien Goldmann, structuralism genetic, in investigating the world view expressed by the author, about the racism and the apartheid which implemented as the social system which bring the believe of racism stronger in the story of The Weekenders, and caused the segregation and discrimination in all aspects of life such as social, politic, economy, and education. Both racism and apartheid appeared from a long history. The result of the analysis shown that the relationship in the novel like God and the man, the man and the man, and the man and the world, which lively life under the racism and separatism, and legitimating to each other about the racism itself, as well the world view which express and implemented as well legitimated the racism alive in the novel of The Weekenders by Sheila Roberts.
