- The economy and monetary crisis in Indonesia during the period of 1997- 1998 and the US crisis in 2008 which spreads to Europe until present day has encouraged Bank Indonesia to tighten the requirements that need to be met by banks, and to advise each bank in providing exclusive attention to credit problems in order to eliminate any possible obstacles in its operation. Bank �A�, being as one of Joint Venture banks in Indonesia, is trying to minimize its credit problems percentage. One of the debtors in Bank �A� that experiences credit problem is PT XYZ, a company engaged in the lubricants industry. PT XYZ had previously been restructured, but then again is unable to fulfill its obligations to Bank �A.� The purpose of this research is to identify any factors that led to the failure of PT XYZ credit restructuring scheme and any critical factors that caused PT XYZ business being stagnant in terms of progress. The author also analyzes and recommends solutions for Bank �A� to minimize the risk. In order to identify the factors stated above, the author uses field research method by performing observation and interview, and also literature research method. Meanwhile, in order to analyze the company�s financial condition, the author applies financial ratio analysis i.e. liquidity ratio analysis, solvability ratio analysis, activity ratio analysis, profitability ratio analysis, and Altman Z-score analysis. Furthermore, the author also calculate the present value (PV) of some possible alternatives which can be utilized by Bank �A� to find out the best alternative solution for the credit problems.
