- Number of housing in District of Sleman continues to grow over the past few years. Sleman holding the first rank in the DIY in the construction sector contributes to GDP district during the year 2007-2010. This indicates that there is highest housing development activity occur in this district. This study aims to analyze the distribution of housing in District of Sleman during the year 2007- 2010, analyze its concentration, and analyze the factors that affect the concentration of housing development. This study analyzed with geographic information system (GIS) using ArcGIS 10.1 software, Williamson Index and panel data regression. GIS is used to look at the geographical distribution of housing according to sub districts. Williamson index used to see inequality and determine the concentration of development that occurs. Panel data regression is used to determine the factors that affect the amount of residential development in District of Sleman during the year 2007- 2010. This study wanted to capture the influence of spatial factors, economics, and demography on the amount of housing in the District of Sleman. Independent variables such as distance to the nearest central business district (CBD), GDP per capita by sub district, in migration, and population density per sub district. To determine the effect of spatial factors used dummy variable locations, that is sub districts. To see the effect of the time factor used time dummy variable, that is year due to residential development. This study shows that residential in District of Sleman in the category of "a lot" contained in Sub district Ngaglik, Depok, and Mlati. Category of "moderate" contained in the Sub district Godean, Gamping, Ngemplak, and Kalasan. In the category of "little" are the Sub district Moyudan, Minggir, Seyegan, Sleman, Tempel, Turi, Pakem, Cangkringan, Berbah, and Prambanan. These results indicate that there is concentration of housing development. This resulted in the imbalance of housing development. Housing construction is concentrated in Sub district of Ngaglik, Depok, and Mlati because the location is close to the center business district (CBD), a lot of in-migration and population density sub districts.
