  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)is a framework of action against social and environmental enterprises (Ioannou and Serafeim, 2010). This study examines the relationship between corporate social responsibility and profitability in Indonesia using manufacturing and banking companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. This study uses the annual financial statements of the company from 2007 until 2011. Data were analyzed using correlation and regression analysis. The results found that CSR has a positive relation to the profitability of manufacturing firms and banking companies in Indonesia. The study also found that there was no difference in the profitability of CSR relationship between manufacturing companies and banking companies in Indonesia.
