  • Forest has functions as buffer and source of peopleâ��s prosperity, but itâ��s conditon was decrease from time to time. Management of forest divided into 2 types, they are state forest and comunity forest. Agroforestry application in forest resource management is one of the best ways to preserve sustainability forest management. Agroforestry systems produce a variety products of forestry, agriculture, livestock and fisheries. Diverse constituent components are characteristic and advantages of agroforestry systems. Common one of the practice of agroforestry system is tegalan. This experiment was aimed to evaluate space pattern and agriculture characteristics in agroforestry system of tegalan. The experiment was conducted 36 tegalan divided into 3 types, that were AFT-1 (12 tegalan measuring less than 1000 mÂ2), AFT-2 (12 tegalan measuring 1000 mÂ2 - 2000 mÂ2), and AFT-3 (12 tegalan measuring more 2000 mÂ2). The data analysed using 2 ways, that were (1) Analysis of vegetation to get Importance Value Index, Shanon Index, and Indek Keseragaman (2) Analysis of Vertical Space (RV) and Horizontal Space (RH) by a three-dimensional spatial and SExI-FS (spatially Explicite Individualbased forest Simulator). The result showed that some trees dominant on the agroforestry tegalan system were mahoni (Swietenia macrophylla) category as forestry trees and coconut (Cocos nucifera), cengkeh (Syzygium aromaticum) category as MPTs. On the other hand, the crown cover decreases as the extent of the tegalan area. Percentage of canopy closure at AFT-1, AFT-2, and AFT-3 by 54.99%, 50.75%, and 46.75%. The highest of RV5 value was AFT-1 (0,21 m) and the lowest of RV1 was AFT-2 (0,81 m). Croping species in groforestry tegalan system was as galangal, ginger, turmeric, purse, and cassava. Those species tolerant with low intensity.
