- There are many literatures that analyze impact of trade openness and economic growth. This study attempts to analyze impact of trade openness, capital, and human capital on Indonesia�s economic growth according to the new growth theory (endogeneous growth theory) by employing Autoregressive Distributed Lag Error Correction Model (ARDL ECM) method and bound testing cointegration to analyze long run cointegration for the period of 1980-2011. The empirical results suggest that there are long run cointegration among variables in the model. Trade openness has negative impact on Indonesia�s economic growth in the short run and long run. Gross fixed capital formation and labor participation rate also have negative impact in the long run but positive in the short run. Education, as indicator of human capital, has positive impact to enhance economic growth.
