- The model is defined as a simplified representation of the real world, traffic modeling is used to show the mathematical relationship of a transport system. Mathematical models in transportation has 3 (three) functions, their are Descriptive (describes the existing traffic conditions), Predictive (estimate future conditions) and Planning (estimate future conditions and development plans). Kuningan intersection is one of the busiest intersections in Jakarta, can now be said to be at saturation point, a very long queue of vehicles even to affect traffic in the city toll segment Cawang - Semanggi during peak hours in the morning, quite as a justification of the claim. By modeling the intersection of Kuningan and several intersections and segments around it, traffic performance can be explained mathematically to do next in a couple of scenarios and traffic engineering management to assess the future if the scenarios are implemented. From several scenarios of traffic management and engineering which is done, the best traffic performance is obtained when the stream changes and improvements made geometric at west u turn in Pancoran intersection (redesign bottle neck) with a delay decreased by 33.86%, queue length decreased by 48 , 42% and 15.85% increase in speed.
