- The aim of this research is to know and to find out the process of self identity formation in university students. Hypothesis raised in this research, there is relationship between children assessment toward mother involvement and religious behavior with university student self identity in Padang city. This research uses three scale to collect and find out the result of the data they are: the children assessment toward mother involvement scale, religious behavior scale, and self identity scale, by using quantitative method and Erickson perspektive. This research was executed at three different universtity in Padang city, with number of subject 160 person, all have status as university students. The data analized using analysis of multiple regression. The result showed that there was a significant relationship of the children assessment toward mother involvement and religious behavior with university student self identity in Padang city with result of FAB 21.680
