Daftar Isi:
- Beef cattle production needs space and feed availability in size and relatively large amounts. This large space require amounts of input resources, consist of : (1) population (labor supply to animal husbandry sector), (2) the number of livestock, (3) the carrying capacity of the land (as a provider of forage grasses and agricultural waste crops), (4) means of support, and (5) techno-economic. This study aims : (1) to assess the spatial patterns of beef cattle production based on the land capability and land suitability in the Pohuwato Regengy, (2) to analyze the potential carrying capacity of the region in the provision of beef cattle production in the Pohuwato Regency, and (3) to analyze the carrying capacity of the region toward the development of beef cattle production in the Pohuwato Regency. The study was conducted in the Pohuwato Regency. Determining the location based on the area of the base and non base of livestock. Materials research is a landscape with soil samples taken at 20 ponits drilling and sample farming households taken by purposive and quota sampling through 173 respondents. The collections of primary data and secondary data conducted by survey method using questionnaires. Furthermore, spatial data analysis with Land Classification and Landuse Planning (LCLP) software, Arc View 3.3, ENVI 4.4, Mapinfo 12, the data carrying capacity of the feed were analyzed using descriptive statistics, and to formulate strategies for developing the livestock carrying capacity is based on SWOT and QSPM analysis. The result showed a follows: (1) Spatially Pohuwato Regency found five land capability classes, namely : I,III,IV, and VI and four land suitability classes, namely, S2, S3, N1, and N2
