- Women are expected to have an active role to get the result of peace. They are asked to have ability to create the policy which concerns on gender perspective, but they are also asked to accelerate the process of peace. But in reality, women have limited participation in the process of conflict resolution, so it will be possible that the policy might produce bias gender perspectives which are less favorable for women interest. Matrilineal kinship will not ensure us that the system shall give power among the women in creating an effort for the peace. As a sample, it was a case of rehabilitation and reconstruction conflicts in Pasar Raya Padang after the hit of earthquake in 30 September 2009. The role of women in conflict rehabilitation and reconstruction Pasar Raya Padang is needed to be studied since the case describes the mechanism of women�s role, their strength, weakness and also their cultural significant in a matrilineal community especially in the field of conflict resolution. This research is analyzed by using theoritical framework which is based on the existing theories such as the concept of conflict, conflict resolution, and the role concept. The method which is applied in this research is used to answer the question, regarding the role of women in form of qualitative approach
