  • Indonesia current economic conditions are fairly good growth. And one of its flagship product is coal and mineral mining sectors. Given these conditions, industry survey and verification services to enjoy the growing mining sector. PT. Surveyor Indonesia as one of Indonesia's second-biggest surveyor, was present to compete since 2007. The growth of this industry led to stronger competition occurs. This study entitled Evaluation of Strategy in the PT. Surveyor Indonesia (Case Studies in SBU Coal and Mineral) which aims to identify and evaluate whether the strategy adopted by SBU Coal and Minerals PTSI is able to compete in the market survey and verification of mining services. Collection of data on study was conducted through an intensive study on the SBU Coal and Mineral PTSI. Type of research conducted in this study is to use a qualitative approach to the depth of analysis included in this type of descriptive research. The method of analysis is to consider external environmental factors that include analysis of industry characteristics, five forces analysis, the analysis of driving forces, key success factors analysis and internal environment analysis. From this analysis it can be seen Strength, Weaknessess, Opportunity, and Threats (SWOT) to compete in the survey and verification of mining services. From the results of this study indicate that the SBU coal and mineral PTSI market share is still relatively very small. Despite an increase in revenues and profits every year, but when compared to existing market share, the share of SBU coal and mineral PTSI is still very little to the total market capitalization. The strategy is still dependent on mining and verification of survey work related to the appointment of the government and the jobs provided by foreign companies alliance that designate SBU coal and mineral PTSI to carry out their field work in Indonesia. So they need a breakthrough and a new formulation to develop the potential that exists in the internal and the opportunities that exist in the company externally.
