- The aim of this experiment was to investigate the effect of Biocon-NP biofertilizer on growth and yield of maize (Zea mays L. var. Arjuna) with difference water availability. This experiment was conducted using Randomized Completed Design (RCD) with two factors and five replicates. The first factor was variation of Biocon-NP dosage which consist of 4 levels i.e, control (B0), 20 mg/polybag (B1), 30 mg/polybag (B2), and 50 mg/polybag (B3). The second factor was water availability which consist of 3 levels i.e, 100% (K0), 75% (K1) and 50% (K2). Data were collected then analyzed by two-way Anova and continued with Duncan�s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). The result showed that the average of plant height increased when plants was subjected to 100% water availability (K0) and applied with 50 mg/polybag Biocon-NP (B3), where as the same water level combined with 20 mg/polybag (B1) increased the seed dry weight. Appropriate water level K1 (75%) combined with application of 50 mg/polybag (B3) increased fresh and dry weight of shoot, however fresh and dry weight of root increased when water availability is low K2 (50%). Biocon-NP application have significant effect in increasing proline content on K2 (50%). Chlorophyll content of maize grown with difference water availability increased by application of Biocon-NP 50 mg/polybag (B3). However, Biocon-NP and different water availability showed no significant effect on nitrate reductase activity.
