- Drug-case inmates in Indonesia has arouse and in the last year data have showed that 38% of inmates in Indonesia are drug-case inmates. Ironically, the numbers of female among drug abusers is quite big and need an intervention. There are various reasons for using drugs among the female inmates, but the most mentioned by female inmates is as escape from the problems of life. Beside stressor from life problems, the female inmates get more complex stressor after they got arrested and sentenced in prison. Those stressors require inmates to adapt, survive and develop appropriate strategies to recover from the situation that they experienced. The ability to adapt, survive and develop appropriate strategies is called resilience. One of the important factors that influence resilience is social support. Source of social support that available among female inmates is from fellow female inmates. Researcher will use support group therapy to enhance level of resilience in female inmates. Purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of support group therapy towards resilience of female inmates. Researcher will use quantitative method with one group pre-test post-test design. Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test will be used to analyze the data. Several studies of support group therapy has been applied to improve the resilience among teens and adults in general, but there is just a few study among female inmates. The results showed there was an increase resilience female inmates narcotics case after the support group therapy.
