- The Waters of Menjangan Kecil Island as a one of the tourist destination in Karimunjawa, potentially facing environmental pressure such as coral damage due to contacts of coral reef. This will affect on the condition of coral reef in the Menjangan Kecil Waters as a one favourite tourism destination. This study aims to assess the contact tourist behavior, to assess the condition of coral reef, and to assess the effect of tourism contact behavior to coral reefs condition in Menjangan Kecil waters. The research is conducted with a full observation of the snorkeling tourist and Line Intercept Transect (LIT) method on coral reef. The results of this study indicate that the snorkeling tourist contact on the coral reef in Menjangan Kecil waters are fins contact, trampling and hang on coral reef. Coral reef condition have not become the hot spot of coral reef damage with 3.39% fragment and scratches on coral reef. The snorkeling tourist contacts behavior significantly cause coral reef damage in the Menjangan Kecil waters with Pearson corellation 0,382. Additional facilities of mooring buoy, pre-snorkeling educational briefing, and good management are conservation efforts to decrease coral reef damage in the Menjangan Kecil waters.
