  • Background: Rocuronium is a nondepolarizing muscle relaxant drug that having a rapid onset and minimal side effects. Intravenously rocuronium doses of 0,6 mg/kgbw (2 x ED95) facilitate a good intubation condition within 1 minute in most of patient. The ideal intubation condition are when larynx condition based on Kreig score at 3-4 (excellent) and TOF value in AP muscle at 100%. The aim of this study is to assess the condition of the larynx and TOF values during the intubations at 60 seconds after administration rocuronium 0.6 mg / kg bw intravenously. Method: A prospective observational study was conducted with 88 ASA I-II patients undergoing general anesthesia with orotracheal intubation and predicted no difficulty for intubation. Sixty second after administration of rocuronium 0.6 mg / kgbw, the condition of the larynx during intubation was assesed with score of Kreig, the value of TOF on adductor pollicis muscle, and the hemodynamic changes between 1 minute before, compare with 1 and 3 minute after intubation. Result : The condition of larynx at 60 s after administration of rocuronium 0,6 mg/kg bw was âexcellentâ in 87 patient (98,9%), and âgoodâ in 1 patient (1,1%). While the TOF value at 60 s after administration of rocuronium 0,6 mg/kg bw was 75% in 3 patient (3,4%), 80% in 40 patient (45,5%), 90% in 42 patient (47,7%) and 100% in 3 patient (3,4%). In this study, there was no significant difference in the mean of systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, mean arterial pressure, and heart rate between 1 minute before intubation and 1 minute and 3 minutes after intubation (p> 0.05). Conclusion : The condition of larynx at intubation at 60 s after administration of rocuronium was âexcellentâ at 98,9% and âgoodâ at 1,1%. The TOF value in âexcellentâ patient was 75% in 3 patient (3,4%), 80% in 39 patient (45,5%), 90% in 42 patient (47,7%) and 100% in 3 patient (3,4%), while TOF value in âgoodâ patient was 80% in 1 patient.
