  • This study aims to determine the Tourism Development efforts in Karimun Regency, Riau Kepulauan Province and the implications of Tourism Development of the resilience of the community. This study used secondary data source from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Karimun District, Regional Planning Agency (BAPPEDA) Karimun, and primary data by the number of 100 respondents who were randomly selected and interviews with stakeholders in tourism. Informans are: Bupati, Kapolres, Dantamal, Chief of Tourism Board and community. Data analysis techniques used in this study is the analysis of descriptions, in order to obtain the whole picture and the meaning of the data or facts clearly and develop categories that are relevant to the purposes of research and interpretation of data in the field of verification results. Based on the opinion of respondents, the tourism sector is able to provide income, jobs and contribute to the revenue which is very beneficial for regional development. This suggests that the tourism sector to increase the economic resilience of society. The results showed Karimun tourism sector is one of the strategic sectors and the potential to be managed, developed, and marketed, given the potential tourist attraction owned Karimun very diverse area attractions include beaches, lowlands to mountain areas in some districts. Tourism in the island of Karimun has appeal and potential for increased revenue in the regency. The tourism sector contribution to GDP reached 26% or the area's second largest after agriculture. The implications of tourism development of the resilience of the region from the aspect of their ideology is increasingly recognize and maintain the values of Pancasila as state ideology. Implications on the economic aspect is the increasing income of the community. Increasing income makes people not seduced by glitzy neighbors. Thus, the implication of tourism development was have positive effect to regional economic resilience.
