- Sawdust is the waste which is produced from the wood saw industry located in Bantul DIY and many other areas in Indonesia. The waste can be utilized for substitution in construction material such as bricks and paving blocks. In this research, the writer wants to utilize the sawdust as the substitution material in the production of wall ornament. The objectives of this research are to determine the influence of sawdust addition to the bending strength and abrasive resistance of the wall ornament and to determine the criteria of sawdust use to produce wall ornament. The method of the research is to add the sawdust into the composition of wall ornament with original ingredients consist of cement, sand and water. The size of the ornament is 20 cm � 20 cm � 2 cm. The sawdust composition variations are 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the cement composition. Other variations in this research are casting pressure (50 kg/cm 2 , 75 kg/cm 2 and 100 kg/cm 2 ) and water content (40%, 50% and 60%). The ornament is tested on two kinds of testing
