  • Background: DHF is a persisting global health problem. As a developing country Indonesia is still facing DHF outbreaks. In 1994 DHF cases occurred in all provinces of Indonesia. Jambi Municipality was one of the biggest contributors of DHF cases out of 11 districts/municipalities at the Province of Jambi. Even in 2011 Jambi Municipality had DHF outbreaks with as many as 1,110 cases and 25 of them died. Meanwhile from January to early March there were 253 cases and 12 people died. Objective: The study aimed to identify association between number of containers, house sanitation condition and the presence of larvae and the incidence of DHF at Jambi Municipality. Method: This was an epidemiological study with case control design. Subject of the study were case and control houses, comprising 130 cases and 130 controls at comparison 1:1. The independent variables were number of containers, house sanitation condition and the presence of larvae. The dependent variable was the incidence of DHF. Results: Mc Nemar test results of the analysis there was a significant association between the number of containers with dengue incidence with p value = 0.029 and OR .0,322 means a container that is the respondent for more than two and less than two is a protective factor 0.322 has no risk of dengue There was a significant association between sanitary condition of the house with the incidence of dengue with pvalue = 0.001 and OR 2,419 means that the sanitary condition of the poor house at risk 2,419, times greater risk of DHF dibandinkan the sanitary conditions of a good home. Statistical tests for the presence of larvae obtained value of p = 0.026 there is a significant hubgungan between the presence of larvae in the incidence of dengue with OR = 1,802 means that the presence of larvae which have posif 1,802 times the risk of dengue incidence in comparison with the existence of a negative larvae. Results of the multivariate analysis there are two variables most related to the amount of container p =0,031 home and sanitary conditions p=0.001 with the incidence of dengue Conclusion: Of a multivariate test of the three variable number of containers, p = 0.038 Sanitary Conditions Home p = 0,, 009 larvae and presence of 0.095, the final model contained two variables mulitivariat related to the incidence of dengue is the number of containers p = 0.031 and p = home sanitary condition 0.001. Of variables that are risk factors are the sanitary conditions on the incidence of dengue fever home with OR 2.368.
