- Kambang Iwak open space for the fulfillment of the need for a shared space and socialization is continued to grow. Strategic Location of open space because its location is on the city center, also supported by the commercial functions and supported by the easy access to such achievement, is not maximum offset by the processing and structuring of open space of Kambang Iwak. This has resulted to continued growth of commercial functions in the form of cafes and restaurants as well as the emergence of street vendors. Activity is in the increasingly crowded with the limited available space so that it has caused the spatial conflicts between users of Kambang Iwak, between motor vehicles, street vendors, and the surrounding commercial buildings. It is therefore important to consider how to create a comfortable atmosphere where people can move continuously, with the right arrangement of public open space of Kambang Iwak This study used a qualitative approach with rationalistic deductive thinking. This study emphasizes on understanding problems in the field based on realistic conditions. Begun by identifying the physical conditions in the spatial field, then try to process and analyze data generated by related theories. Furthermore, the results of the analysis concluded, finding solutions or a way issuing a draft guidance The results suggest that there are non-physical factors and physical factors in terms of the criteria of livabilty that affect to spatial condition that occur in the open space of Kambang Iwak Palembang. So the recommendations that will be directed is the spatial arrangement of open space landing of Kambang Iwak terms of the criteria of life.
