  • The purpose of the study was to examine the influence of Quality of Work Life (QWL) and transformational leadership towards employeesâ�� work engagement. Quality of work life is employeesâ�� satisfaction which is consisted of two primary needs: lower order need and higher order need. Lower order needs is consisted of needs of health/security and economy/financial. Higher-order needs is consisted of needs of social, self esteem, self actualization, knowledge and esthetical need. Employeeâ��s engagement is a positive attitude and point of view concerning work which is marked by mental strength (vigor), dedication, and absorption. Transformational leadership is an ability of leaders to motivate their subordinates so that those subordinates could maximize their potentials or achievements in working. The study was conducted among hospital nurses, fifty nurses employed for tryout and the hyphotesis was tested on ninty eight nurses employed. The tools of data collecting used in the study were questionnaires which were consisted of one questionnaire to measure quality of work life, one questionnaire to measure engagement (UWES) and another to measure transformational leadership (MLQ-5X). The hypothesis proposed in the study was tested using double regression analysis, and the result showed the influence of quality of work life and transformational leadership towards working engagement of hospital nurses which was shown by F= 12,709 with p= 0,000 (p < 0,01). Together, quality of work life and transformational leadership affected working engagement.
