- This research aimed to describe the role of the Ombudsman the Republic of Indonesian, limits the authority Ombudsman of the Republic Indonesian in implementing the supervision function, constraints and the efforts taken for overcome the constraints in realizing good governance. This research is a normative legal. The data of this research consisted of secondary data and supported with field data. The secondary data was obtained through the study document againts legal materials of primary, secondary and tertiary. Field data obtained through interviews with the Ombudsman sources of Prevention. The result showed that the Indonesian Ombudsman oversight is done passively, actively, and the meditation againts state officials and the government plays a fundamental role in delivering good governance. Recommendation is one form of authority Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia in implementing supervisory function. Constraints faced by the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia, among others: there is still resistance to the authority state officials and collisions with other state agencies. Other than that to limited funding and human resources effect on optimization of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia working in the region. Efforts that must be taken is with a network of cooperation and coordination with some of the state officials and other state agencies. Representatives of the development efforts in the area and held a variety forms of socialization of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia.
