  • Planning of bamboo columns in the bamboo structure is currently no standard reference or rules to regulate it, therefore the study was conducted to investigate the behavior of the bamboo columns itself, Dendrocalamus asper taken as research material because Dendrocalamus asper are widely used as construction materials. Problems associated with the column are always compression forces since the column is always dominated by the axial load. Columns in the calculation depend not only on cross-sectional area and compressive strength, but also on the modulus of elasticity, the length of the column and cross-sectional dimensions. In the long column failure can occur even if the stress limit has not been exceeded. This damage occurs due to buckling. On steel and wood construction buckling table already created but the bamboo does not created yet, and the modeling study presented here was also carried out using SAP 2000 to determine Pcr value comparison between experiment and modeling in SAP 2000.
