- Happiness had become an important indicator of mental health care which people need (Perneger, Hudelson, & Bovierl, 2004). Happiness as an indicator of mental health could influenced by stress and somatization. This research aimed to examine the correlation between stress and somatization toward happiness. A total number of participants were 110 undergraduate students of Psychology Faculty at Universitas Gadjah Mada who were chosen accidentally. Data was analyzed using path analysis to examine the path model. Result showed that there was a correlation between stress toward health. Standardized coefficient beta between stress toward happiness was -0,425 (p < 0,05). Meanwhile correlatioan between stress toward somatization was 0,675 (p < 0,05) and correlatioan between somatization toward happiness was -0,278 (p < 0,05). There were significant correlatioan between stress toward somatization and also somatization toward happiness. It showed there were indirect correlation between stress toward happiness through somatization. However, correlation between stress toward happiness through somatization was -0,5978. This correlation showed correlation between stress toward happiness were increase with mediator somatization.
