  • The impedance spectroscopic system, work at frequency range 5 â 120 kHz, has been designed to determine the complex dielectric constant of materials. In this study, measured variables, frequency, capacitor voltage and resistor voltage, are used for calculating impedance, dielectric complex and loss tangent value of materials. The spectroscopic system which has been designed comprises of capacitor system and data acquisition systems. Data acquisitions consist of instrumentation amplifier, zero crossing detectors, Schmitt trigger, high frequency rectifier, minimum system of microcontroller ATMega32 which equipped with LCD and serial communication circuits, and a computer program for calculating and showing data. The simple RC circuit, paper, glass, CCTO and barium Titanate materials have been used to compare the data with obtained the system own produce afair result for the samples measured. CCTO has the greater dielectric constant (maximum value is 674 at frequency 5 kHz) and paper has smallest dielectric constant (maximum value is 7.5 at frequency 5 kHz). The system can also produce a reasonable Cole-Cole plots.
