  • Teenagers slang of Kendari, study of sociolinguistic. As a language variation, slang describes continually based its characteristics, as well as the forms, forming process, semantic change, and the functions of slang. The objective of this research are 1 ) to describe the forms and forming process of adolescentâ��s slang of Kendari, 2) to describe semantic changes with the original meaning of basic word with slang, 3) to describe the functions of teenagers slang of Kendari. This research uses qualitative descriptive method, because using data and data analysis non-numeral as well as describing the objects of research in accordance with research problems without predipose it. Data collection was carried out through the method of introspection and review. From the data found various form of slang like a basic word such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, interjection and particles, derived terms in the form of affixation, reduplication, compound word, phrase and also sentences. Thr process of slang formation are an abbreviation, acronyms, word clipping, reduplication, metathesis, the addition of - ong and â��ce, deletion, phoneme substitution, and loan words from foreign language and dialect, some of slang created own who has no rule of formation, aims to enrich the language and slang vocabulary. Semantic change in teenagers of Kendari are generalization, euphemism, metonimy and metaphor. Slang is a casual language used teenagers like internet users, students, office workers and so on, basically it has several functions are for humor, to relieve saturation, to refine the word or euphemism (talks to be more polite, not rough, not traipse and not damnify others), for the sake of brevity, intimacy, secrecy, and as a provocation.
